Welcome to the Nanobiotact project site

filler imageNanobiotact (Nano-engineering biomimetic tactile sensors).is a Specific Targeted Research Project funded by the European Commission under its Sixth Framework Programme.

The objective of Nanobiotact is to design and construct an articulated artificial finger with a biomimetic sensor based on an array of NEMS force transducers that will mimic the spatial resolution, sensitivity and dynamics of human tactile neural sensors.

M30 Meeting, Goteborg University, 18-20 May 2009

The M30 Meeting will take place at Goteborg University 18-20th May 2009, and will be hosted by Johan, Helena and Malin.

Supporting European competitiveness

The project will keep Europe at the leading edge of global technology.

The project will support sustainable resource and waste management and will identify materials which meet both sustainability targets and consumer demand.

The knowledge of sensory science will provide opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in fields such as sensor manufacture within Europe.

Possible spin off is the invention of mechanical devices that will assist disabled people and their integration into the community.
